Azor (Olmesartan Medoxomil/ Amlodipine Maleate) is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. Azor is a combination of Amlodipine and Olmesartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels. Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Olmesartan works by keeping your blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. You may be able to lower your risk of stroke or heart attack by lowering blood pressure.

Azor Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, flushing, increased urination, skin rash or itching and swelling. The serious side effects may include:
• Chest pain or heavy feeling, nausea, sweating or generally feeling ill;
• Light-headed feeling like you might pass out;
• Jaundice;
• Pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;
• Rapid weight gain;
• Swelling in your hands or feet;
• Urinating less than usual or not at all

You should not take Azor if you are allergic to Amlodipine or Olmesartan or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. You should not use this medication if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant while using this medication, inform your doctor right away.
